This is the second generation Pontiac Firebird. The 1970 design was a big evolution from the late 1960’s pony car aesthetic. It adopted a sleeker appearance with its fastback roof line and sizable c-pilar. The car’s nose was molded from rubber and painted the same color as the body, which gave the car a clean bumper-less appearance. The ‘shaved’ look was brief moment in the Firebird’s history as the car saw another redesign in 1974 due to increased crash safety regulations.
