This is an early example of the Toyota Celica, circa 1976. Unlike the later Celicas these early models were rear-wheel drive and very lightweight. The Celica was launched in 1971 with an independent front suspension and 4-cylinder engine. The GT model came fitted with a 5-speed transmission and dual Mikuni-Solex carbs. This one however is a standard-issue LT model. Offered with cloth seats and an optional 8-track. Noteworthy detail, these early examples shared a similar door handle design to those of the Toyota 2000GT.
